An Evening of Art, Landscape & Belonging
Join artist and art historian Geovanni Barrios for a free, immersive evening of poetry, film, music and collective artmaking at The Rally Hotel.
Drawing inspiration from the landscapes between Miami and Denver, Of Marsh & Mountain explores our relationship to nature, place and the freedoms we associate with the outdoors. Barrios brings the expansive marshes of the Everglades into conversation with Colorado’s mountain landscape, inviting guests to consider the places that have shaped their own sense of belonging.
Create Something Together
Throughout the evening, guests will be invited to create colorful paper forms inspired by landscapes that hold meaning for them. Each individual piece will become part of a larger collective collage, which Barrios will assemble into a new work of art following the event.
No artistic experience is necessary. The experience is designed for everyone to participate, whether you come ready to create or simply want to experience the evening.
Poetry, Music & Performance
Featuring poetry and music from special guests Emma Cuba and Awuor Onguru, the evening moves between performance, creative workshop and quiet reflection — offering a chance to experience art not simply as something we observe, but something we make together.
Of Marsh & Mountain is an evening about landscape, belonging and the many ways we find a sense of freedom in the places we call our own.
